Circa 1892-93 James Corbett Boxing Poster |
ITEM 1: Circa 1892-93 James J. Corbett Boxing Poster. This amazing piece of vintage boxing memorabilia measures 21" x 28" and remains in really excellent condition. When I purchased it from a collection it was in a frame. The frame was very old but definitely not from the 19th century so I removed it to examine it closely and kept it out of the frame. I am very confident that the time of issue was around 1892-93. I say this because it is titled "the worlds greatest boxer"... Corbett gained this title in 1892 when he won the World Heavyweight Boxing Championship by knocking out John L. Sullivan. I believe it was in 1894 that he lost his championship to the English-born boxer Bob Fitzsimmons. It is an exceptional early poster of one of boxing's greatest legends. Positively STUNNING, RARE poster is EX-MT! Price SOLD |

1942 Rittgers Figures - Boxing

The Rittgers company produced many different sports sets in this chalkware or plaster composition. Other sports sets include baseball, football, basketball and several of the minor sports as well. In this particular set, the “ducking boxer” is in EX-MT condition and the “referee getting hit” remains NEAR MINT. Price for both $195 |
