1888-1900 Wright & Ditson “Sears” Model Tennis Racket

ITEM 1: 1888-1900 Wright & Ditson “Sears” Model Tennis Racket. This fine antique tennis racket is endorsed by Richard Sears the legendary United States Singles Lawn Tennis Champion from 1881 to 1887. His name is stamped into the wood frame towards the top of the racket head. While, Wright and Ditson - Boston is stamped into the throat. It is a very high quality racket which remains in superb condition. Also, it features a wonderful sterling silver owner’s plate on the back of the throat! A unique addition to any vintage tennis memorabilia collection! SOLD

1900-10’s Spalding Lawn Tennis Shoes

ITEM 3: 1900-10’s Spalding Lawn Tennis Shoes. This is a fabulous pair of very unusual and early tennis shoes made by Spalding. They are made of black canvas with a rubber sole. The rubber sole has a very unusual tread, much like that found on the same era stacked leather football cleats. However, this tread is all solid molded rubber... very unusual! Vintage tennis shoes from this era are very rare and this pair with the unique tread and solid EX-MT condition, is outstanding! SOLD

ITEM 5: 1906 Tennis Lady Lithograph Print in the Original Frame. This colorful tennis print dates back to 1906 and was done by Harrison Fisher. It remains housed in its original 10"x 12" frame which is very ornate. The condition is solid EX-MT. Price $175

1920’s Dayton “Flyer” Tennis Racket

ITEM 6: 1920’s Dayton “Flyer” Tennis Racket. This exceptional, vintage tennis racket was made by Dayton. Dayton was the first company to produce metal tennis rackets. They employed the use of steel piano wire for strings inside a steel frame. This was a very unique innovation not previously known to the tennis makers. This particular tennis racket remains in solid EX-MT condition with all stings perfectly intact! Price $250
