Circa. 1905 D&M University League Baseball
Presented here is a superb Circa 1905 Draper & Maynard (D&M) “University League” Baseball, a scarce and highly desirable example from one of the premier makers of the early game. This handsome sphere remains in exceptional condition, making it an outstanding survivor from the deadball era.
The ball features a crisp and bold D&M "University League” stamping across the sweet spot. The red and black stitching is vibrant and tight, lending a striking visual contrast against the creamy white horsehide cover, which has aged beautifully with only the slightest touch of mellow toning.
At over a century old, it is remarkable that this baseball remains so well-preserved, retaining both its form and surface integrity without the heavy scuffing or soiling so often seen on examples of this vintage. The ball features strong markings and overall eye.
Early Draper & Maynard balls are prized by collectors, not only for their quality but also for their association with one of the most respected names in sporting goods at the turn of the century. This exceptional University League example is a scarce artifact and would be a wonderful addition to any collection of vintage baseballs.
